Janet Ashfield - Life CoachWhen I left school, I left with few qualifications and no idea what I wanted to do with my life. The first job I applied for (and got) was as a laboratory technician.  I stayed there for the next 8 years, whilst studying at night school to improve my education.

A whirlwind romance culminated in me getting married, having two wonderful children, but unfortunately divorcing soon afterwards.

I then began studying for a degree and three years later achieved a BSc Honours in psychology and sociology.

Since then I have worked hard on a number of project management assignments within Local Authority and Housing Associations, including community empowerment and involvement; strategic & financial planning, performance and project management. This work has involved working with a variety of groups, such as community development, tenant participation, community safety, and drugs action teams; and also in partnership with local agencies including the police, probation service, health professionals, education providers, youth agencies, councillors, and board members as well as with local residents and community leaders. I have also been a school governor and a victim support volunteer.

All this experience has enabled me to develop a comprehensive understanding and insight into a wide range of issues on both a personal and professional level, and has been a major asset to the training and coaching I now provide.

Establishing ‘Mpowerme’, has enabled me to combine management training and consultancy with life coaching and personal development programmes.

Being able to utilise my own education, work and personal life experiences in this way has given me great job satisfaction, enjoyment and a real sense of fulfillment.
