Mindfulness a practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world

July 3rd, 2011

I have been practising and study meditation and mindfulness for some years now. There are a lot of books on both subjects and as an avid reader I am trawling my way through them!

I thought this book was fantastic book, as it is simplistic and understandable. Not full of technical chatter but relates to day to day life, just the chapter titles tell you this is a good starting point:

Chasing your tail

Why do we attach ourselves?

Waking up to the life you have

Followed by an 8 week really supportive programme with accompanying CD too.

So if you are stressed, anxious or just need some quiet for your overall health and wellbeing booktime give this a go!

Buy this if you are a beginner or have started and stopped, or have tried meditation and found yourself lost or despondent…….this,  I think, will help on the journey. (remember to check out if it is available at your local library  so you can try before you buy!!)

Book written by Mark Williams and Danny Penman

The Highly Sensitive Professional

June 22nd, 2011

It has been identified that 20% of the population are Highly Sensitive People. This does not mean neurotic, emotional or anything else. It just means that some people are more sensitive than some others could this be you? HSP’s may have been judged as, too sensitive, too emotional, too quite, eccentric, too shy etc.

If you say yes to more than 50% of these questions you do have sensitivities:

  • Are you aware of your feelings?
  • Are your feelings easily bruised?
  • Do you have a vivid imagination?
  • Do good ideas come easily to you?
  • Do you need time alone?
  • Are you attracted to the deeper things, spirituality, self-development, philosophy etc.?
  • Do you feel bothered if there’s a lot going on?
  • Are you a quiet sort of person?
  • Does noise bother you more than others?
  • Are you easily touched by other’s experience, stories of kindness, courage etc.
  • Have you been moved to tears by beauty, in nature, art or music?
  • Do you tend towards shyness?
  • Do others tell you you’re ‘too sensitive’?
  • Do you feel somehow different from others? (maybe even flawed in some way?)
  • Do you easily read others’ moods and feelings?
  • Do you easily sense the energies of places or situations?

Here at Mpowerme I can help you to:

  • Know more about being a HSP and what this means for you and how to have a better quality of life.
  • Help other non HSP’s  -  because you now realise you are coming into contact with HSP’s every day.

E mail me now if you would like some more information -  janet@mpowerme.co.uk or call on 0845 900 5821 for an informal chat

Steve has a great reputation for copywriting and marketing and has a very good work flow – so much so that he has no need for a web site, now that’s something to aspire too! Anyway I am a woman of far too many words and Steve is a star at understanding what you are saying and reducing it significantly and it making great sense too! So give him a shout if you need support with your words or your marketing.

David – Create Design

June 22nd, 2011

I have known David for about 4 years. The thing about being self employed is that you don’t know what you don’t know, so therefore you need someone who is switched on enough to tell you what you don’t know! I have a dislike of IT and David deals with all the inane questions I ask,  does all those big web jobs and also deals with all the irritating little bits that I can’t stand too. So if you need have a very helpful web provider do have a chat with David.

Explore – Dream – Discover

June 22nd, 2011

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.  So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.  Catch the trade winds in your sails.  Explore.  Dream.  Discover.” – Mark Twain
