Testimonials for Mpowerme Courses
I have found the sessions I’ve attended extremely valuable, and have found being part of the group very beneficial, and I have still felt involved even when I have been unable to attend a session. The e-mails from Janet with their positive thought provoking messages have also been great.
The positive impact that attending sessions and being part of the group has had on me is that I now look at things from different perspectives, with a broader outlook and I will question initial negative thoughts and reactions I may have.
I haven’t made any dramatic changes in life yet and am still fearful about my future, but being part of this group has meant a great deal to me. I also feel that even if I felt more secure I would still value this group as it is about much more than just one specific issue.

I enjoyed attending your course and feel I learnt that anyone can make changes to their personal and work life. I used the information from the course as evidence towards my nvq 3 in health and social care which I have now gained the qualification. I have learnt that I am not alone with parental relationship difficulties. I am very glad to have been introduced to meditation which i now attend regularly and I am not so sure I would have been able to attend a class before due to my social difficulties so thank you .

I have never been on a course like this before and really enjoyed it. It was completely different to anything else I have ever been on, and I would recommend it to anyone. I think it is something people need to do more often – to dedicate some time to assess themselves. Following this course, I feel happier in myself and with my life. Although I have some challenges ahead, I feel I can conquer these and will come out the other end.

During the course, colleagues talked openly about times when someone had attempted to bully, harass or undermine them. Janet was able to teach us that we are often our own worst enemy, allowing things to hurt, annoy or anger us. Janet discussed with us the principle of ‘letting go’ and how a verbal / mental response can be very enlightening, and can prevent the build up of destructive emotions.
I have since applied this logic in a number of situations and this has prompted a great change in my mindset. I have indeed tried to pass this wisdom onto friends as I think it is a great technique.

Janet you are an excellent coach, and always look at things from both sides, e.g. if someone is having difficulty with a line manager, or is told they look miserable – you explain how their thought processes might work too and how they might see things, rather than saying what the person might want to hear. It gives another perspective to everything, and may be something more for that person to think about, to look at it from another angle.

The LEAP course would be very valuable to colleagues – three days to really make you think about yourself and your needs – invaluable! Janet you are a great trainer, very funny and likeable but also able to deal with the serious issues too.

The course has helped to give me a more positive outlook. It has also helped me deal with my lack of self-confidence, which has never been a problem for me until this last twelve months or so, which I think might be due to the menopause. Having always been very self-confident and quite positive, I am finding this quite difficult to deal with. I think that this course would be of great value to many personnel within Hampshire Constabulary. It has certainly made me think about what I want out of life.
Janet was very professional in the delivery of the sessions and the tasks we were given very thought provoking. Her knowledge was very extensive and I was very impressed with how she dealt with some of the people within our group who were in desperate need of advice and guidance.

People in this organisation work in little silos and there is little opportunity for networking in this way. It is a comfortable environment to give others moral support at a time of unprecedented change. Janet is an excellent facilitator and very understanding of others needs and problems and suggesting ways to be more self-aware and self-reliant. She fostered a really supportive atmosphere in the group.

I attended this programme to gain more confidence and set myself goals that are easier for me to work to. The most valuable aspects of the programme have been the networking and assertiveness. I will now be a more confident employee. The programme exceeded my expectation and I am now more able to speak up.

I went on this course to help me gain knowledge to help career/work. The course helped me to gather knowledge on how to get ahead, networking/support in the groups had helped me problem solve. The most valuable parts were looking at my image, assertiveness in personal relationships, I did not realise how passive I was and how to be assertive correctly. This course would be really helpful to other colleagues. The course helps you to look at your thoughts, behaviour and aims and helps you to identify if these are working together. I think the balance of group work and the workbook and presenting worked really well. My employers will now benefit as I will be happier to voice ideas about the job which will benefit me and the job and are based on simple changes. Janet related personal experiences really well.

Janet explained what you could do differently backed up with experiences. I went on the course to gain more confidence to speak up. I can now speak up and tell people my views. I really valued the guest speakers and listening to other peoples views and experiences. I think it would really help people in my office to do this course. My employers will gain as I am much happier and settled and want to do more within the organisation.

I went on this course to establish some focus and objectives or my career progression.
I have now got more focus, I found the networking the best part. The course made me realise I need to make time for personal goals also. It had allowed me the time to focus my attention on individual areas of development. My employers will benefit and I am now ore focused on promotion.

I went on the course to improve my personal confidence having identified it as a weakness. Being truthful I was a little apprehensive, as to what we would be doing, (think it was more to do with nerves!) but once I got to the course I felt very comfortable. I was looking forward to meeting other people in situations similar to myself, sharing tips and ideas on how to deal with certain people, and how to stay assertive in difficult situations.
I found the guest speakers helpful; it was good to listen to other people, on how they developed themselves. I liked the topic ‘assertiveness’ how to be assertive but not to come across as aggressive.
I have l learnt that there are other women of any age feeling the same as me in certain situations, I feel a lot more motivated within my job, I feel I can speak up and be more certain of my views.
Mpowerme gives people of any age that chance to change something or all of their life, whether it’s personal or work. With Mpowerme it’s never too late to change.
